Antivirus Review in 2021
AVAST Antivirus
It’s simple to see why Avast Free Antivirus is one of the most popular antivirus programs available. There are no obnoxious limitations to attempt to entice you to upgrade, and no gaps in its feature set: you get antivirus, harmful URL filtering, and a few nice extras like an extra anti-ramsomware layer to protect your most essential document folders and quick network vulnerability assessment.
When you upgrade to Avast Premium Security, you’ll get a firewall, secure file deletion, and webcam hijacking protection, as well as a software updater that discovers and installs missing security patches automatically.
Unfortunately, Avast’s spam filter has been removed, but interesting bonuses include a sandbox for safely running dubious apps and Avast’s Real Site, which decreases the risk of hackers using DNS trickery to redirect you to harmful websites.
Premium Security’s single device license is a touch pricey at $40 for the first year and $70 for renewal, but its multi-device plan is only $50 ($90 for renewal) for a year of protection for up to ten devices. Bitdefender Internet Security, for example, costs $25 for a single device license in the first year ($40 on renewal) and $90 for ten devices.
Unlimited access to Avast’s SecureLine VPN (which costs $70 on its own), as well as its Premium password manager and PC clean-up utility, is included in Avast Ultimate. The single device license is $66 in the first year and $100 after that, but you may cover up to ten devices for only $80 in the first year and $120 after that.

That’s a terrific deal, but in some cases, Avira’s Prime suite might be a better option. It has a comparable feature set, including an unfettered VPN, and it costs $100 a year for five devices or $130 for 25. (A three-year license for 25 devices costs $361, or $4.81 per device each year.)
